Marriage License and Civil Ceremonies at San Francisco City Hall

Separate appointments are required for obtaining a marraige license and/or for the ceremony. Reservations can be made up to 90 days in advance.
Requirements to be legally married in California
- Couple must apply for and pay for a marriage license issued by a County Clerk, and
- Ceremony must take place in California within 90 days of when the marriage license is issued, and
- Ceremony must be performed by an authorized person under CA Family Code Sections 400-401
